Del Norte Child Care director Lola Maravilla was named World's Best Child Care Provider by the Contra Costa Child Care Council in 2017.
Here's what parents say about Del Norte Child Care:
"Lola showered her with love"

Our little girl misses Lola even though she left Lola's daycare over two months ago. She was at Lola's for two years and is now at preschool. Lola showered her with love, taught her to count from 1-20 in English and Spanish, taught her ABCs, many Spanish words, and so many other things, including table manners. Lola provided daily updates on our kiddo's day, including basics like food and sleep and detailed information about behavior. Lola also makes the best Spanish rice I have ever tasted. She gave me some to take home and my kiddo and I couldn't stop eating it. Lol.
After dropping our kiddo off at Lola's, we could relax knowing that she is getting loving care and learning every day.
We are thankful and grateful that Lola was there to help us nurture our child starting at the tender age of 9 months.

"So thankful we found quality care"
My boys were at Del Norte Child Care since my first was about 7 months old. As a first time mom, it was challenging finding the right fit, but Lola was finally it after trying two different providers. He is now 2.5 and has learned SO much and it's such a treat to hear the Spanish he knows as well. My second was there from about 6 months to 1 year old. One thing that impressed me was how Lola continually made improvements to both the space and how things were run. She is incredibly nurturing, calm, and patient. We recently left, as we have an impending move back to our home state. My boys miss them and talk about Lola, Mariana, and "school" all the time. I'm so thankful we found quality care where they learned so much. It truly meant the world to us as working parents.

"Our daughter has flourished"
Lola is a professional, kind, and experienced childcare provider and teacher to the many children who have been under her care. Our daughter started a Del Norte Daycare when she was a year old and stayed until she was almost 5. During our daughter's time at Del Norte Daycare, Lola was supported by 2 additional teachers, Julia and Mariana. Our appreciation for these woman is far-reaching. Our daughter learned and developed at such an impressive pace under their care. She was coming home singing Spanish songs at 2, writing her name at 3, and now she can write the full alphabet (upper and lowercase) and is working at a kindergarten level in her reading and math books.
Lola also does a great job of staying on top of the latest curriculum by attending conferences and by keeping the content and toys interesting for all of the kids.
Also, the cleanliness of Del Norte Daycare is always SO impressive. We always are amazed to see how neat and tidy the teachers manage to keep the space while also caring for up to 12 kids at a time. In addition to this, she provides breakfast, lunch, and snacks and the kids adopt proper eating and meal clean-up etiquette.
Our daughter has flourished under the care of Lola, Julia, and Mariana and we are grateful for all of their hard work!

"It was a fantastic experience"

Our daughter went here for two years. It was a fantastic experience. I always felt she was safe and nurtured. The teachers have the perfect temperament for what they do which is so important. It's a small, tight knit environment run (at least when we were there) by just two people. So keep in mind that they need vacation and rest like everyone else; make sure you know the rules and schedule. But each child gets a lot of attention and personal connection, which is wonderful. We eventually moved on to a Montessori preschool when our child was older, but we miss everyone at Del Norte very much. Highly recommended!

"Best care for your child"
If you are looking for the best care for your child, Del Norte Child Care is it. We knew from our first visit that this is where we wanted our daughter(s) to be. Lola's facility is clean, neat and safe. She provides breakfast, lunch and snacks. (Looking back, that's huge!!)
Our first daughter started with Lola at 7 months and our second started at 4 months. Both went til they were about three and a half. They are now in preschool and TK.
Now as far as Lola is concerned, you couldn't find a more caring, nurturing and loving person than her. All the children love her, and it's easy to see that she loves them. She truly does care about each and every one of the children in her care. Both our daughters loved being at Lola's. In the nearly 3 years each one was there, we watched them learn, grow and thrive. It has been such a blessing.
There are so many good things to say, but it comes down to this; if you want your child to be well taken care of, come to Lola's. If you want them to learn, have fun, make friends, be in a safe environment and thrive, come to Lola's!!

"So thankful for the wonderful work"
Lola took care of my son for three years and in those three years he learned so much and we are so thankful for the wonderful work she has done.

"It was wonderful"
My daughter was with Lola for the last two years. It was wonderful! The only reason we left is because she needs to go to big girl school now. The award Lola received from Contra Costa is well deserved.
Every day when I would bring in our daughter she would run ahead and give Lola a hug. All the other little kiddos would say hi. They were obviously happy to be there and to see each other. I love that Lola had breakfast for the kiddos. It made busy work mornings so much easier. Our kiddo liked the food and would eat well while at school.
I also love that Lola is good about teaching the kiddos Spanish. My partners first language is Spanish but I am still learning. Having Spanish at school and at home made such a huge difference for us and has really helped our daughter with being able to talk to her family. I really can not say enough about Lola. We will miss her and her assistant Julia so much!!
Both my partner and I are happy to give personal references for her or Julia any day. Just ask.

"Couldn't be happier"

Our daughter has been at Del Norte ChildCare for six months, and we couldn't be happier. Dolores (kids call her Lola) and nannies are very caring and plan curriculum each week for the children. Lola created helpful Parent's Info board with a curriculum of infant/toddler activities and a menu for the current week. She is excellent about calling and reporting anything if necessary and gives a summary at the end of the day during pick up.
We also loved that learning Spanish was one of their core enrichment programs. Our daughter started to sing songs we didn't teach her. She was excited and eager to attend Lola's daycare.
